WeSwap
Head of Design
Overview
WeSwap is a peer-to-peer currency exchange platform which offers drastically reduced exchange fees compared to bureaux de change, by simply swapping users' money. Customers can then spend worldwide in any currency using their WeSwap Mastercard.
Challenge
WeSwap is a playful brand which brings a friendly face to foreign currency exchange.
The challenge was to design an app that is approachable and joyful to use, yet professional and trustworthy enough for customers to load their money.
Clever use of blues and greens from the brand's colour pallette were used to create a sense of financial trust, whilst yellows and oranges were used for the platform's more playful elements.

By creating a design system, the app features consistent UI elements (such as numeric inputs) to guide the customer through the user flow.

Werkabee
Head of Design
Overview
Werkabee is a Tinder-style matching system for students & graduates to find work experience or internship opportunities around the world. The matching algorithm works on personality, rather than skills and experience-levels.
Challenge
Werkabee needed to be accessible to both young students & graduates, and typically older business owners and recruiters.
The challenge was to create something which would appeal to both markets without losing the brand's unique playfulness.
The UI was designed to be particularly brand-focussed in order to help grow the young startup - and features a honey-like gradient, honeycomb-styled icons, and an almost gloopy modal system.

The app features the same left-right swipe interaction which users are familiar with in similar, matchmaker apps.

BuzzHire
Visual Director
Overview
BuzzHire is an on-demand recruitment platform used by caterers, fast-food restaurants, and delivery services, to hire on-the-spot employees in what is now known as the 'gig economy'.
Challenge
BuzzHire's USP is its ability to create dynamic pricing for workers based on type, availability, time, and location.
The challenge was to allow the user to define this information in order, and see the price update along the way.
A card-based design was used to segment the information required from the user. The way the cards slide out from under one another means unnecessary fields and options are not shown, keeping the screen clean and simple.
The cards were also chosen for the mobile webapp to have a familiar interface with swiping gestures.
For each card to stay fully self-contained, they needed several states designed for each. For example, this Location card has states to search, save and remove addresses.
